Khyiah Angel is an Australian author, teacher, and publisher.
Khyiah was a 2010 recipient of the Australian Society of Authors Mentorship Award for her first novel Fake Profile, the story of how a single posting on a social media website can go horribly wrong. Fake Profile was released in August 2014.
don’t friend me, released 28th January 2016, is the revised edition of Fake Profile, updated to reflect new technologies.
Her second book, young adult crime fiction novel Say Nothing, is due for release in 2017. Her third book, children’s hybrid novel, Jordan’s Journey, will be released early 2018.
Her fourth novel, a multimodal young adult psychological thriller, I Know Why You Run, will be released mid 2018.
Khyiah is the Director of Typology Publishing, a publishing house with a focus on multimodal and transmedia text. She also runs writers workshops in schools which include coding and content creation as narrative devices.
Khyiah has a PhD in Media & Comms (Creative Writing) for which she researched the multimodal reading and writing of young adults. She also has undergraduate degrees in [Education] and [History, Philosophy & Politics], PostGrad qualifications in [Education] and [Technology] and Masters degrees in [Gender Studies] and [Creative Writing].
